Mammoth Sign Offensive Coordinator Jason Bishop to Multi-Year Contract

Colorado has clinched consecutive NLL Finals berths with Bishop at the helm of the O-Unit

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has signed Offensive Coordinator Jason Bishop to a multi-year contract. The new contract will take effect immediately, with Bishop returning to the bench for the upcoming 2023-24 NLL season.

“Keeping Jason within the organization was a top priory for us this offseason. Jason is one of the hardest working guys I know and is committed to being the best he can for our team,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “He truly cares about our players and will do whatever it takes to prepare them with everything they need to be successful. Not only is he a great coach, but he’s a great person and we’re lucky to have him here in Colorado.”

Originally hired to the role ahead of the team’s 2021-22 NLL Championship season, Bishop helped the squad return to the NLL Finals for a second-straight year during the 2022-23 campaign. Over the past two seasons, he’s empowered the team’s offensive unit to collectively take the next step in rounding into championship-caliber form while creating winning habits with the organization’s forward group.

“I feel privileged to have another opportunity to coach such an amazing group of men in front of the best fans in the league,” Mammoth Offensive Coordinator Jason Bishop said. “There’s nothing quite like the Loud House and I’m ready to get to work with the guys to make sure we bring our best every time we step on the floor.”

At the helm for Ryan Lee’s franchise record-breaking 119-point (34g, 85a) season during the team’s championship run, several Mammoth players have accumulated career-best scoring totals with Bishop calling the sets. Developing prospective talent into now-established NLL all-stars in Connor Robinson and Zed Williams, existing scoring threats such as Eli McLaughlin and Chris Wardle also continue to thrive under Bishop’s leadership and player-friendly approach.

Prior to his promotion in October 2021, Bishop served as the organization’s western scout for five seasons, regularly providing scouting reports from the greater B.C. region, scouting upcoming opponents and providing video breakdown packages. In more than 20 years behind the bench in various capacities and Canadian lacrosse programs, Bishop has helped lead many Canadian lacrosse teams to provincial and national championships, most recently spending time as the Offensive Coordinator for the Sr. A Coquitlam Adanacs. He’s also spent the last three active lacrosse seasons serving as Offensive Coordinator of the Jr. A Coquitlam Adanacs, alongside Mammoth Assistant General Manager, Head Coach Pat Coyle.
