Colorado Mammoth Enter Dispersal Draft with No. 7 Overall Selection

DENVER – With the National Lacrosse League (NLL) recently announcing both the Ottawa Black Bears and Philadelphia Wings franchises have respectively ceased operations, the now-12-team league is primed to host the 2026 NLL Dispersal Draft on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Colorado Mammoth organization enters the card-shuffling showcase with the No. 7 overall pick alongside additional selections available at No. 19, 31, 43 and 55.

The NLL determined draft order by weighing club results from the 2025-26 campaign (70% stake), as well as the league’s 2025-24 season (30%), thus averaging out Colorado’s 12-6 and 8-10 records.

Similar to past drafts, teams retain the right to pass or forfeit their picks at any point an organization isn’t interested in making a selection.

Every player from each of the former organizations’ complete rosters – which includes talents from the Active Roster, Practice Player List, Draft List, Holdout List, Injured Reserve List and beyond – will be available to be selected in Tuesday’s draft.

With nearly 50 players available to be drafted, teams are likely to make the most of respective Round 1 and Round 2 selections with talents like Jeff Teat, Zach Higgins and Brennan O’Neill atop the prospect board.

However, clubs may take altering approaches when the draft’s later rounds arrive, with existing personnel pools and associated contractual, financial and competitive window-related matters scattered throughout the league’s 12 continuing contingents.

Teams won’t be forced to trim Active Rosters down to 21 until late November, when the 2026-27 NLL campaign begins. But with Training Camp right around the corner and roster spots competitive as ever, front office crews will have their hands, and turfs, full for the fall slate.
