Mammoth, Denver City Lax Celebrate 8th Annual City Lax Dash

As the Colorado Mammoth, National Lacrosse League, and a variety of lacrosse clubs and organizations throughout North America continue to await proposed return-to-play updates, your boys in burgundy haven’t stopped working.

As professional athletes, industry leaders in their respective career fields, family members, and of course, members of the lacrosse community, your Colorado Mammoth have remained dedicated to improving as a team on the turf and in the community.

“Despite the length or untraditional aspects of this offseason, we expect our guys to stay in shape, remain focused on ramping those workouts up and ultimately making sure our team is ready for when we’re called back to play,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self shared.

So, when the opportunity to support a physically-inclined fundraiser with our friends at Denver City Lax arose, it seemed like a no-brainer. Helping others, staying in shape and growing the game we love?

We’re in … and we need your help! (queue the festive tunes)

Helping to usher in the heavily-anticipated spring lacrosse season, the Mammoth have partnered with Denver City Lax in support of the non-profit’s 8th Annual City Lax Dash!

While our team won’t be able to join the traditional thousands of runners at City Park for a friendly trot this year, Mammoth players and front office staff will be dedicating and posting private runs, workouts and routines to team and player-specific social media channels in support of the event Feb. 7-14.

“It’s great to see our guys champion a cause which makes such a significant impact on lacrosse here in Denver and throughout Colorado,” Self shared. “At one point, our guys were those young athletes who wanted to absorb everything there was to know about lacrosse, so seeing the support and passion come full circle is one of those elements of being a part of the lacrosse community that you can’t teach, but you love to see.”

Workouts begin Feb. 7, but our support starts today!

Mammoth fans, lacrosse enthusiasts and community supporters alike who are able to support the organization and event are encouraged to visit the Colorado Mammoth’s team donation page.

Fans are also invited to check out the Denver City Lax website to learn more about the organization’s programs, events and other ways to get involved.

Be sure to use #CityLaxDash on social platforms this week to help us spread the word, and as always, stay tuned to Mammoth social media channels for more information on the team’s support!

About City Lax

Denver City Lax continues to serve as a non-profit growing the game of lacrosse in underserved neighborhoods and uses the sport as a platform to assist at-risk youth and helping to find success on the field and in the classroom.

Lacrosse is the entry point to the organization’s youth development program. Thanks to the support of the local community, hundreds of Denver-area elementary and middle school boys and girls are able to get involved with youth teams focused on promoting education and life skills development. In addition to becoming familiar with lacrosse, kids learn more about opportunities to attend leadership camps, receive academic assistance and ultimately challenge themselves to grow through outdoor adventure experiences and a variety of other enrichment activities.
