Mammoth Bring Back Forward Brett McIntyre

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has re-signed defenseman Brett McIntyre to a two-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

“Brett has worked hard to get in the lineup over the past two years,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “He played a really important role for us in the playoffs during our championship season and we’re looking forward to watching Brett take the next step and grab a hold of an everyday roster spot this fall.”

After helping the Mammoth secure its 2022 NLL Championship during his rookie season by providing a welcomed spark to the offense with Ryan Lee and Eli McLaughlin dealing with injuries during the historic run, McIntyre expanded on his inaugural campaign by recording 21 points (9g, 12a) and 22 loose balls in 11 regular season appearances during his sophomore season. Eventually adding two points (1g, 1a) during his one game played during the 2022-23 NLL playoffs, McIntyre will continue to get comfortable in Colorado’s offense as he enters his third professional season this fall.

Originally selected by the Colorado Mammoth during the 2020 NLL Entry Draft (second round, 22nd overall), Colorado had to land a trade with the Las Vegas Desert Dogs to reacquire the young forward last summer, sending forward Sam Firth and defenseman Erik Turner to Las Vegas in exchange for McIntyre after the league’s newest expansion team selected him during the 2022 NLL Expansion Draft. The Calgary, Alberta native has logged 21 points (9g, 12a) and 29 loose balls in 13 career regular season games and has added 18 points (8g, 10a) and 18 loose balls in seven career postseason appearances, with 16 points (7g, 9a) coming during the team’s title-earning journey.
