Mammoth Acquire Forward Connor Kelly from Albany FireWolves

28-year-old logged career-high 35 goals during 2022-23 NLL campaign

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has acquired forward Connor Kelly from the Albany FireWolves in exchange for a first-round selection (14th overall) in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft.

“Connor is a dynamic athlete with elite offensive abilities who had a breakout year in Albany last season,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “We expect him to build off last year’s success and we know he will be a great addition to our offense.”

Coming off a career-best season in which he racked up 67 points (35g, 32a), 58 loose balls, one caused turnover and eight penalty minutes in 16 regular season appearances, Kelly led the FireWolves in scoring throughout the 2022-23 season.

Originally selected by the San Diego Seals in the third round (33rd overall) of the 2018 NLL Entry Draft, Kelly has logged three seasons in the NLL, including one season each with the Seals, New York Riptide and FireWolves. Recording 124 points (59g, 65a), 143 loose balls, four caused turnovers and 16 minutes in 35 career games played.

Currently playing alongside Mammoth goaltender Dillon Ward with the Waterdogs of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), he’s logged 17 points (6 1-pointers, 5 two-pointers, 1 assist) and seven ground balls in seven games played. He’ll look to build on those totals Sunday, September 10 during the PLL’s Semifinal postseason round.

The Mammoth will continue to prepare for the 2023 NLL Entry Draft, which is set to be held in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, September 16 at Noon MT.
