Colorado Welcomes Back Goaltender Tyler Carlson

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization signed goaltender Tyler Carlson to a one-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

Spending the entire 2022-23 campaign on the team’s active roster, Carlson logged an 0-2 record, 89 saves and three loose balls in nearly 130 minutes (129:30) time on floor. Occasionally spelling starting goaltender Dillon Ward for brief mid-game breaks, Carlson continued to shine in his reserve role with Colorado, both on the turf and as one of the locker room’s biggest leaders.

Briefly appearing during the team’s second-consecutive lengthy postseason run, Carlson logged 34 seconds of play time, but did not face any shots.

Originally signing with the Minnesota Swarm ahead of the 2012 season, Carlson has racked up 1,408 saves in just over 2,400 minutes (2403:59) played throughout the course of his 11-year career. Ending last season with a 12.05 goals-against average and .774 save percentage, his career-long totals improved to an 11.61 goals-against average and .752 save percentage.

Despite the team rostering Nate Faccin for the past two seasons, alongside Ward and Carlson, the organization also signed a pair of goaltenders who will get an opportunity to impress during the team’s training camp session, with Ethan Woods and Kris Veltman also getting chances to show their stuff.
