Colorado Inks Forward Connor Watson to New Contract

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has signed forward Connor Watson to a two-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

“Connor came in and fit in right away near the trade deadline last season and he’s had another good summer up in Canada, so we’re looking forward to seeing him take another step with us this season,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self shared. “He works extremely hard for his teammates, is really quick and has a nose for getting to the net.”

Signed by Colorado on Feb. 23 as a free agent during the 2022-23 NLL campaign, the 6-2, 200-lb. forward has yet to make his debut in burgundy and black, as a majority of the team’s offensive rotation was healthy by the time March rolled around.

Showing promising flashes in practice en route to earning several promotions to the team’s active roster throughout the spring, the young 24-year-old will get his chance to move up the depth chart again this fall as the team returns to Foothills Fieldhouse for training camp.

Appearing in 10 regular season games for the Burnaby Lakers of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) this summer, Watson racked up 37 points (14g, 23a) and penalty minutes.

Originally signed by the Halifax Thunderbirds prior to the 2021-22 season, the Langley, BC native recorded eight points (2g, 6a), 10 loose balls and zero penalty minutes in three regular season appearances.
