Andrew McBride returns for his seventh season with the Mammoth and third within his role as assistant general manager, having originally joined the coaching staff in July 2018. Working alongside former defenseman and head coach Pat Coyle as the team’s defensive coordinator for four seasons (2019-2023) in establishing one of the most consistent and feared defensive units in the NLL, McBride returns to the bench after spending the past two seasons concentrating on his scouting and development duties within his assistant general manager role. McBride concluded his 13-year NLL career in 2015. The former Roughnecks defenseman spent his entire career in Calgary, leading the Riggers as captain for five seasons. Twice an NLL champion (2004, 2009) and NLL All-Star (2008, 2011), McBride amassed 87 career points (19 goals, 68 assists) and 711 career loose balls in 198 regular season games; he also holds the franchise record for regular season games played. On the international level, McBride competed for the Irish National Team in the 2015 FIL World Lacrosse Championships, making it to the quarterfinals. A Ladner, British Columbia native, McBride also won the 2004 Presidents Cup with the Ladner Pioneers. He also continues to impact the Raiders Lacrosse Club’s Jr. A program of the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League (BCJALL) as the organization’s general manager.
