Mammoth Welcome Back Defenseman Brett Draper

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has re-signed defenseman Brett Draper to a one-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

“Brett has shown some great flashes and is a young, athletic defenseman full of potential,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “We were glad to get him in the lineup at one point last season and can’t wait to see him compete at training camp again this fall.”

Signed as a free agent prior to the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign, the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia native appeared in one regular season game for the Mammoth. Making his NLL debut Feb. 18 during a West Conference showdown with Panther City Lacrosse Club, the rookie defenseman recorded five loose balls in his first professional contest.

Originally drafted by the Halifax Thunderbirds in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft (sixth round, 91st overall), the 5-9, 165-lb. defenseman was placed on Colorado’s Physically Unable to Perform List on Feb. 23, eventually missing the duration of the season.

Draper will join the Mammoth for his first training camp in Lakewood, Colorado this November, as the team signed him as a free agent following the final week of last year’s preseason session.
