Mammoth Sign Defenseman Bryce Tolmie Ahead of 2023 NLL Entry Draft

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has signed defenseman Bryce Tolmie to a two-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

“Bryce is an athletic defenseman/transition player who has NLL experience after playing six games for New York in the 2021-22 season,” Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “He’s continued to develop his game over the past few summers and we look forward to him competing for a spot at camp.”

Representing the Kahnawake Mohawks this summer during the team’s quest to capture the Presidents Cup, Tolmie recorded two points (2g, 0a) and two penalty minutes in six appearances.

In his most recent NLL action, Tolmie recorded two points (0g, 2a), 34 loose balls, six caused turnovers, one blocked shot and zero penalty minutes in six regular season games played during his rookie campaign with the New York Riptide. Taking advantage of his opportunity in New York, he was able to log some playing time alongside former defenseman and now Mammoth Defensive Coordinator Dan MacRae in learning the game at the professional level.

Unafraid to make a splash in the transition game, Tolmie recorded 19 points (12g, 7a) goals in 32 collegiate appearances with Hofstra University, adding three caused turnovers and 15 ground balls throughout three seasons.

The 25-year-old Whitby, Ontario, native is expected to enter his first Mammoth training camp inside Foothills Fieldhouse at 6-2, 200 lbs., a welcomed addition to Colorado’s veteran-heavy back-end composition.
