Mammoth Re-Sign Defensemen Tyler Garrison

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has re-signed defenseman Tyler Garrison to a one-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

“Tyler came in late last season and made the most of his opportunity,” Colorado Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “He is a true pro in how he prepares mentally and physically. We’re looking forward to having Tyler back and we can’t wait to see what he does with a full year of opportunity.”

As part of his first season with Colorado, Garrison made his debut with the Mammoth April 29 during a showdown with the San Diego Seals, going on to record one loose ball, one caused turnover, one blocked shot and two penalties minutes in limited time on the floor. Eventually serving as a regular during the team’s postseason run, Garrison chipped in one point (0g, 1a), nine loose balls, two caused turnovers, three blocked shots and two penalty minutes in four playoff appearances last season.

Initially drafted by the Washington Stealth during the 2012 NLL Entry Draft (second round, 11th overall), Garrison logged a majority of his career with the Washington/Vancouver Stealth from 2013 to 2018 before most recently logging three games played with the San Diego Seals during the 2021-22 season prior to signing with the Mammoth during the 2022-23 campaign. The Coquitlam, British Columbia native has logged a combined 43 points (17g, 26a), 205 loose balls, 79 caused turnovers and 63 penalty minutes in 52 regular season appearances. The veteran defenseman has also recorded six points (4g, 2a), 17 loose balls, four caused turnovers and two penalty minutes in seven playoff games played.
