Mammoth Bring Back Defenseman Jordan Gilles

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced the organization has re-signed defenseman Jordan Gilles to a two-year contract agreement, set to begin during the 2023-24 NLL campaign.

“Jordan does everything well: From defending a team’s top offensive players, to picking up loose balls to pushing the ball in transition,” Colorado Mammoth General Manager Brad Self said. “He’s established himself as a leader on our team and is a huge reason for our team’s success over the last two years.”

Originally selected by the Colorado Mammoth during the 2015 NLL Entry Draft (sixth round, 52nd overall), Gilles has spent his entire seven-year career with Colorado and was one of the team’s defensive pillars during its 2022 NLL Championship season. Recording 10 points (3g, 7a), 92 loose balls, 12 caused turnovers, 15 blocked shots and nine penalty minutes in 18 games played last season, Gilles continues to represent the Mammoth’s stalwart back-end unit with a physical, yet intelligent, approach. A constant threat in the transition game, the Richmond, British Columbia native added five points (2g, 3a), 47 loose balls, seven caused turnovers, six blocked shots and two penalty minutes in seven playoff appearances.

In 117 career regular season appearances, the defenseman has racked up 56 points (26g, 30a), 549 loose balls, 106 caused turnovers and 29 penalty minutes throughout his seven seasons defending the Loud House. Having recorded 13 points (6g, 7a), 121 loose balls, 17 caused turnovers and two penalty minutes in 21 playoff games played, Gilles continues to climb the franchise ranks in several regular and postseason categories.
