In celebration of the 2020 NLL Entry Draft, the Colorado Mammoth are educating and engaging with its citizens of the Loud House as the Mammoth faithful and entire lacrosse community gear up to usher in the next wave of NLL talent.
In preparation of the lacrosse-loaded week, ColoradoMammoth.com is highlighting a variety of draft details, streaming platforms, interactive social media activations and beyond!
2020 NLL Entry Draft Date, Details and How to Watch
The 2020 NLL Entry Draft is set to take place Thursday, September 17, as the league’s first virtual draft. Following in the footsteps of the NFL, MLB and WNBA, the NLL will be the fourth professional sports league to produce and execute an entirely virtual draft.
Fans can catch all of this year’s draft day action by tuning into the 2020 NLL Draft Selection Show via Bleacher Report Live, the NLL’s YouTube channel or the league’s Facebook page beginning at 5 p.m. MST. The television voice of your Colorado Mammoth, Teddy Jenner, will join Devan Kaney, Stephen Stamp and Tabitha Turner to provide insightful broadcast coverage and analysis during this year’s draft.
Viewers will be treated to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes evening of draft coverage like never before and can expect a variety of new access points, programming content and beyond, such as:
- An introductory welcome to the 2020 Draft from Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz
- Access to team representatives who are set to announce draft picks live on the broadcast
- An inside look at the draft’s top prospects waiting for their name to be called
- Live “look-in” coverage of select team war rooms, watch parties and production areas
- In-depth prospect backgrounds, selection analysis and unique player stories
“As a league that always thinks digital first, we are excited to be able to use state-of-the-art technology to hold the 2020 Draft online for all fans to watch and participate in,” NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz shared in a press release. “As we continue to wade through the challenges we are all facing today, we would have liked to offer the newest rising stars a live experience. But we know that the entire event and team, player, and fan experience will be first class.”
The NLL will utilize Telescope Inc.’s interactive platform, CONNECT Live, to integrate real-time, on-air Twitter comments and high-capacity hashtag poll from NLL fans around the world. Mammoth fans are encouraged to join the conversation by using #NLLDraft and #TuskUp hashtags.
Colorado Mammoth Social Media Channels and Interactive Elements
Mammoth fans who think they have what it takes to be #GMForTheWeek will have a chance to flex their lacrosse knowledge and make some draft day decisions for their own NLL franchise via a series of Twitter polls on the Colorado Mammoth Twitter page. (No, you can’t #TradeWard in this exercise) Ideas for a new franchise location? Maybe a new color scheme comes to mind, or you’re ready for a rebuild. Regardless, the choices lie in the hands of Mammoth fans!
Fans who would either prefer to take the trivial route and tap into their Mammoth draft knowledge, or that simply can’t handle the heat of the #GMForTheWeek decisions, are invited to tune into the Colorado Mammoth’s Instagram page for a deeper dive into the historical side of Mammoth draft history as part of an exclusive Mammoth Draft Quiz. Featured within the channel’s “stories” platform, Mammoth fans will be faced with a series of questions covering a variety draft-centric topics.
