Mammoth Signs Veteran Forward Rhys Duch

The Colorado Mammoth announced today the organization has signed veteran forward Rhys Duch to the team’s Active Roster. Duch most recently logged four points (3g, 1a) and 17 loose balls in two regular season games with the Halifax Thunderbirds during the 2021-22 campaign before missing the rest of the season due to injury.

Duch, an experienced scorer, has logged 996 career points (408g, 588a), 845 loose balls, 38 caused turnovers and 101 penalty minutes in 192 regular season games played over the course of 13 NLL seasons. The Victoria, BC native has added 78 points (34g, 44a), 75 loose balls and 8 penalty minutes in 16 postseason appearances, most recently adding to those totals in 2019 with 11 points (4g, 7a) in four games en route to helping the Calgary Roughnecks capture the 2019 NLL Championship.

Originally drafted third overall by the San Jose Stealth in 2008, Duch made his professional debut in 2009, racking up 89 points (35g, 54a) and 87 loose balls in 16 games as a rookie. Quickly introduced to individual and team success alike and during the first year following the Stealth’s relocation from San Jose to Washington, Duch helped his squad secure the 2010 NLL Championship.

The talent would go on to average nearly 88 points (87.9) per season for his first 11 seasons as a dominant offensive threat, including a 103-point effort (41g, 62a) with the Stealth in 2015 before doubling down and posting 111 points (48g, 63a) in 2016.

In a corresponding move, Colorado has released forward Auston Murphy from the Active Roster.
